The real reason you don't like photos of yourself
I've heard it 1000x in fact it's one of the reasons I hear most on why someone books a session with me - they want to change how they see themselves in photographs
I also get comments all the time that ppl are amazed at how confident, relaxed and authentic my clients look and they wonder what I do
So I am going to let you in on the secret: all I do is get you to forget that you are being photographed. That's it. That's the magic. Let me explain:
Most of the time when someone realizes a camera is pointed in their direction a level of anxiety sets in. The reel of mental and emotional noise starts: am I standing right, my arms are going to look big, I look too big, too small, what do I do with my hands, now say cheese....and guess what while you're doing all of this you're face and body starts doing things that it normally doesn't do when you're not thinking of these things.
You get micro expressions because you're overthinking or uncomfortable and your body language changes.
I see it weekly in my studio: someone has beautiful elegant and natural movements and expressions and as soon as I point the camera everything changes.
So when you look at photos of yourself and don't like what you see, please know that that's not how you are appearing to everyone else.
My favorite part of working with my clients is knowing that I've taught them how to relax and be themselves in front of a camera, how to pose to naturally enhance the beauty they already possess.
If you're ready to see the difference for yourself then I invite you to book a session with me "book a session with me".
